Things you should know as you start Limbo
Your Limbo sensors will soon be with you. Before you get started, here are some important things you should know.
1
It’s not a silver bullet
Hopefully you didn’t think you were buying a magic patch that sits on your arm and sucks the fat out while you eat whatever you want! There’s no magical solution for weight loss, but you already know that.
This time, you can make weight changes permanent, but you’ll need to put some effort in.
Limbo will guide you through lifestyle changes. It’s a bit like a GPS but for better health. It will give you the right advice. You’ll get directions but you’ll need to follow them and make changes Limbo suggests.
Changes will mainly be around the way you eat and drink, but there are other weight and health related factors you’ll start to change during your programme. Exercise, non-exercise movement, sleep, stress and other factors are factors that affect your weight.
2
You won’t have it all laid out in a plan
Limbo doesn't give you a diet and there’s no mandated exercise plan.
It’s more a case of choosing your own adventure. Instead of being told what to eat, you'll be guided to discovering the right things for your unique physiology.
The data will reveal your metabolism and a team of humans will coach you into better choices, which lead to better habits.
The process Limbo puts you through centres on managing your blood glucose, but it’s the series of hormonal changes that follows this that make the real difference. Follow your advice and you’ll notice significant changes to appetite, cravings, energy and other aspects of your health.
You certainly won’t be tracking calories or macronutrients with Limbo.

The Limbo device needs some care
Continuous glucose monitoring is revolutionary but the technology is still in its relatively early days. The experience of using CGMs may be different to the gadgets you normally buy and they need a little attention. So you must read and watch the instructions before you start. You can even join a live video call to get help.
The CGM works by inserting a filament under your skin, which is held in place by an adhesive pad. You need to do the best you can to keep this filament in place because knocks and bumps can lead to errors in glucose readings. The glue can be affected by things like water and perfume, so you also need you to pay attention to the guide to caring for your sensor.
Read and watch the instruction videos at start.limborevolution.com before you put anything on. It’s easy to get wrong, but we’ve made a lot of guidance for you.
4
It's a tried-and-tested learning process
Most weight loss apps that you use are carefully designed to give you a smooth user experience and give you all the answers you need immediately.
That's not exactly how Limbo works. You'll find there's some friction and even frustration early on as you discover how your body reacts to things.
This is an important part of the health skills upgrade you've chosen to go through. While it will be tempting to rush straight to 'cheats' or hacks but give yourself a week to get used to the system. We'll send you more guidance as you get used to Limbo and the effort you put in will be paid back in the long term.
Trust in the little daily changes you can make and you'll make progress.
5
Limbo adapts as it learns about you
Once you plug in and see your Limbo line for the first time, it’s fascinating to see what impacts your metabolism. There’s no better way to understand what works and doesn’t work for your body than checking the shape of your line soon after you’ve done something like eat a meal.
Your programme will automatically give you feedback designed to help you towards your goal weight. The more you log and the more you engage with Limbo, the more you’ll get from it.
6
It’s not forever. Focus on small changes
Limbo’s not forever - it’s a programme with a beginning and end, decided by you. It also has goals. You only need to be in Limbo as long as it takes to make a significant change to your lifestyle and habits. It’s not just about your weight.
The changes that you make with Limbo will centre on your blood glucose because that’s something you can learn to control easily.
Just doing this will have a knock on effect on other hormones involved in your metabolism so that you end up with something of a reset of the signals that tell your brain whether you’re hungry, whether you have enough stored energy and more. You’ll feel the difference within the first month: if you follow the advice you’re given.
7
Measurement is essential
Limbo is a weight loss programme so you’ll need to weigh in to measure your progress.
You’ll need some digital scales that connect to Apple Health, if you don’t have these yet, you can find a list of links on our site.
Using a fitness tracker that's compatible with Apple Health will also help Limbo understand what's going on with your physiology and you'll get better advice as the programme can pair heart activity and sleep metrics with your blood glucose.
